    A Tribute to “Lords of the New Church”
    7inch Split Single
    by Church of Confidence and Chicken Reloaded
    These two great punk rock bands, one from Berlin, Germany, and the other from Biel/Bienne Switzerland, have more in common than just long friendships: stacks of concerts, parties, intensive studio work, long nights and even more cold beers. Ah yes, and there is something else, namely a shared fervor for the legendary "Lords of the New Church" and their exceptional front man Stiv Bators.
    An idea had been floating around in the heads of the two bands for a long time, and in summer 2020 the idea became reality when the two lead singers from each band, Uli and Pat agreed to produce a tribute 7-inch single to the Lords of the New Church, a band both believe wrote great songs but yet somewhat forgotten.
    No sooner said than done. The two bands agreed pretty quickly on which songs to record. Great delight, even greater enthusiasm, but also a huge portion of respect for this musical heritage accompanied the bands from then on while editing, performing and recording.
    Church of Confidence decided on "method to my madness" and recorded this punk rock hit in the band's own "Wild at heart" studio in Berlin, where the song was finally mixed and mastered by Uli. Whereas Chicken Reloaded, in turn, chose "Russian roulette" and recorded this classic at their guitarist Jack Baumgartner's studio "Heaven BNC" in Biel/Bienne. For the mix and mastering, Chicken Reloaded again enlisted the expertise of Fabio Buemi in Berlin, who has given the song a very special touch.
    Both bands are responsible for the cover artwork. Just as different as the songs were recorded, so too is the artwork and that's exactly how a split single has to come across: one shared idea, but two distinct takes. Chicken Reloaded once again paired up with their favorite graphic artist Mariano Facci, who designed the covers of both LPs.
    The 7 inch split single will be released on Wild at Heart Records and on sale at Tiki Heart, Berlin, Cortex, Berlin, churchofconfidence@googlemail.com and chickenreloaded.bandcamp.com
